Brent and Patty Harris have
been the owners and operators of Windschant Kennels since July 1998.
Patty began her life with dogs when, as a child, she received a terrier mix for
her birthday. She's been in the doghouse ever since! With the help of
those first special dogs, she excelled in 4-H canine care, training, and
showmanship. She subsequently began showing her dogs in Obedience and Flyball.
When she was 15 years old, Patty started on her career path by becoming employed
as a veterinary technician at a local animal hospital. She gained additional
experience by working at canine boarding facilities. To further her education,
she attended West Virginia Canine College. Along with managing the daily aspects
of kennel operation, she trains dogs in agility, tracking, protection and
therapy.
Brent grew up on an Illinois farm where his family bred and raised German
Shorthaired Pointers. He has lived and cared for a large variety of animals his
entire life, ranging from small household pets to large farm animals. His many
years spent in the construction industry has prepared him well for his role as
kennel owner and operator. He oversees the daily maintenance of the kennels and
along with Patty, manages the daily aspects of kennel operation.
Patty and Brent currently
share their 21 acre farm with their own dogs, rescued horses, donkeys, goats and
chickens.
